1st La Union Scrabble Open 2005

With the generous support of the Provincial Gov't of La Union, the Metro La Union Scrabble Club organized the 1st La Union Scrabble Open on March 5-6,2005 at the Diego Silang Hall. Forty Two players participated in the two-day,16-round rated tournament mostly coming from La Union;13 from Metro Manila;6 from Baguio City;2 from Cebu City;2 from Laguna;and Mario Libiran of Bulacan.

Lorenzo Bacani of La Union was dominant in the first day of competition scoring a perfect 8 wins. However, Ronald Credo proved to be the best with his 13 victories losing just once in the 2nd day to Bacani. Bacani settled in a tie for 2nd to 4th places.

Further, the MLUSC will be holding a one-day rated tournament on March 19. The venue will be announced later. Prizes will be awarded to the Top 4 players, top 2 Under-1600 and top 2 Junior players (21 y/o and below).Entry fee is Php120.00 inclusive of snacks.
