Since I have played only nine players in this tournament, let me summarize my games per player.

1. vs. Daniel Milton
A US player whose been travelling around the world just to play Scrabble for the love of the game. Daniel is the oldest participant in this tournament at 80 years old.
Daniel Milton ready to start the game

Round 3
In my second turn, I inadvertently played a bingo NUASEATE* which remained on the board as we did not notice until Daniel made his next play. Later, he played REALIST but not enough firepower in the end.

holding on to my 7-point lead

I played CLEG (b2) which was enough to win the game. (Although, Quackle found COgGL(E) (a1) as the best optimum play and better winning spread.)  Still a win is a win, 393-357.

Final Board Position: Ronald wins, 393-357 vs. Daniel Milton

2. vs. KV Chidambaram
They also call him Prasad who is deeply fascinated in this game. He lives in Abu Dhabi and travelled two hours going to Dubai to join this tournament. In our first meeting at the 22nd Gulf Scrabble Championship, I lost to him in the earlier round but I was able to win the Gulf title.
Prasad's deep thought during the game

Round 1
We exchanged bingos, NIDINGS and BEIGNET for him while I had IGNAROES, BOOTIes and POUNDERS. But the most crucial part of the game when Prasad played FLU and this was the board position.
Prasad played FLU 13l

The scores at this point were 443-418 in my favor, however the unseen tiles (AADEFINORR) gave me difficulty to decide what to do. Since the E-hook on FLU was the easiest spot for Prasad to play a bingo, I concentrated in blocking that spot by playing (E)ARTH (8k).
(In my post-mortem review, I found out that there was a possible nine timer in the floating M, if only Prasad held a rack of AAEFIRR, the AIRFARE/ FLUE spot was blocked but not the AIRFRA(M)E (1h) on top row for 176 points and that would have been the killer blow! I was very lucky for that one as Prasad had a rack of AEINORR instead.)

3. vs. Arham Abidi
Arham is a young and promising player. We met twice in this tourney with a 1-1 matchup record.
Arham Abidi in the middle preparing to put tiles in the bag

In Round 18, Arham played a bingo BeDRAIL (o6) going to this board position, our scores were 381-405 as I trailed by 24 points. Unseen tiles from my point of view were (AEEIINNTUVZ) with 4 tiles in the bag.
Board Position after Arham's BeDRAIL

I ignored the Z-spot in n10 square and proceeded to play FAB (15a). As it turned out, Arham had the Z next turn and played ZA for 64 points. Boom! That's it and I lost!
(In my home review, there were blocking plays ABAFT (n10) but would empty the bag, AFT (n9) or FA (n10) with the idea of BA(W)D (1a) next turn would have been the better choice. None of these came to my mind during the game. What a blunder!)

4. vs. Nikhil Soneja
Nikhil has been our heart and soul in the UAE Scrabble scene. Always been involved in our mini-tourneys and a big help in organizing such tourneys like this including the Gulf Scrabble Championship when Dubai hosted it.

Nikhil Soneja, a picture of intense concentration in this game

In Round 10, Nikhil had just played B(R)INK (14j) down low and the score was 367-344 in my favor.

Board Position after Nikhil's BRINK

Holding this awful rack, GGLMRWY, I played L(E)GGY (3i) for 22 points to block the S and T floaters. I think, this was better than L(e)GGY (l4). There was also G(E)RMY (3i) which scored better that I missed during the play. But my choice of play was enough to hold on to my lead and win in the endgame.

5. vs. Syed Yasir Jamshaid
This was the first time I met Syed Yasir. Looking at his WESPA record, most tournaments he joined were the Pakistan Scrabble Championships since 2012. We played four times and we had a good 2-2 matchup record.
Syed Yasir Jamshaid pondering for his next move

In Round 2, Syed Yasir has just played a bingo (O)UTpREEN (15h) for 74 points. I had a 417-343 lead, but need to be careful on my next move. Unseen tiles to my point of view going to the board position below were AAEENSTU.

Board Position after Syed Yasir's OUTpREEN

I surveyed the board, and the best spot for Syed Yasir to play a possible bingo was NAUSEAT(E), so I played VEDUT(E) n10 to thwart it. He challenged the word but it was valid.

6. vs. Navya Zaveri
Navya was the youngest competitor in our bracket. He previously defeated me in the 2013 Gulf Scrabble Championship, so I need to focus more on our game for me to get even. But in this tourney, we were 2-2.

A hearty handshake between Navya Zavari and yours truly before start to play

In Round 12, Navya had just played (MI)TOGEN as I held the rack EGKLNOS, while he had the last rack of (?DGIS). I was trailing 296-320 at this point.

Board Position after Navya's MITOGEN

I played the highest scoring move, SNOEK (12k) for 39 points, giving me back the lead, 335-320. I knew that any good out play that Navya would lay would have given him the win, but he faltered by responding with DInG(O)S* (m8), and that was challenged off the board. That was an undeserving win for me.

7. vs.Eric Kinderman
Eric, not missing any tourneys in Dubai. I have had a very good matchup record with him particularly on the regular tourneys we had in Dubai, that's why he was always pushing hard to beat me often time we meet. In our WESPA record, I am 2-1 ahead before this tournament.

Eric Kinderman and Yours Truly playing serious Scrabble

In Round 19, Eric's last play was SOFTING (3b) (81+5) to take the lead, 325-268.
Board Position after Eric's SOFTING

I chickened out with AsSIZER/ QUINONES and just played RIZ (2a), a very risky move as there were still two-A's unseen, but this one opened up one more bingo lane compared to playing ZI(G). As it turned out, Eric played AERO/ AZO responding to bait of my decoy in my earlier move.
This time, I held ?ACELMS and laid down sCAMELS (n5) (85+5). Good thing that there we no counter-bingo from Eric after that.

8. vs. Alastair Richards
Alastair together with his parent, Paul and Karen conducted Scrabble Clinic in Dubai, and it was a resounding success. We already met trice in WYSC 2013 Side Tourney, and I had a 2-1 win loss record prior to this tourney.

9. vs. Ralph Lobo
Ralph and I met initially in WSC 2003 when he was still representing Oman. Most of our games were played in UAE and the Gulf Region. He was working in UAE up to this date. I had an inferior record against Ralph in a WESPA Rated Tourneys as evident to my match-up record with him in the table, below.
